Meet Dane Herr, Platform Administrator
1. Where did you grow up?
I grew up in a small town in central Wyoming, not far from where the Mormon and Oregon trails cross the Rocky Mountains.
2. What brought you to CyberGRX?
A family friend wouldn’t stop talking about this awesome new startup he was working for. After a great presentation and talking at length about the problem CyberGRX is trying to solve, I was sold on the idea!
3. What do you do at CyberGRX/what’s your typical day like?
As a Platform Admin I’m constantly monitoring and enhancing customer and third-party environments, software testing, provisioning users and assessments, and collaborating with others to solve complex issues.
4. What advice would you give to your teenage self?
Don’t just hear what people say, listen. Spend the time learning a new language. Own your education, don’t let others decide what and when you learn something.
5. What has had the greatest impact on your life?
Discovering my love of history. In school it was a boring subject, often taught without context, and I hated it. Now I have an unending amount of material to read, watch, or listen to which helps me have a deeper understanding of why things are the way they are.
6. What’s your hidden superpower?
The speed at which I read books. It’s not unheard of for me to read 1000 page books in less than a day.
